A Lover's Symphony
DAAS COOP Art Gallery · Cape Coral, FloridaCloud Kent's second solo exhibition was built around a single theme: love — its beauty, its cost, and its journey through the most intimate chapters of an artist's life. Eighteen original paintings formed a collection drawn from personal testimony, spiritual depth, and raw emotional honesty. The opening featured a live jazz band performing throughout the gallery, transforming the exhibition into a full sensory event where music and canvas became inseparable.
"The room became a ceremony. Music, testimony, and paint all speaking the same language at once."
Skyfall
AC Hotel Tampa · Tampa, FloridaThe debut solo show that announced Cloud Kent to the Florida arts community. SKYFALL was a full retrospective — 75 paintings representing the complete arc of Cloud Kent's artistic life. The opening drew over 150 guests and generated an emotional response beyond typical art reception: multiple attendees moved to tears in front of the work. The evening confirmed this is not decorative work — it is testimony on canvas.
"Multiple guests were moved to tears. 75 paintings. One night. A debut that felt like a revelation."
Artist Statement
In His Own Words
I don't paint what I see. I paint what I feel. Every piece is a prayer — and when you bring it home, that prayer lives with you.
I died on the operating table at 25. I've had a gun pointed at me in the Bronx. I've had a knife pulled on me in Harlem. I stepped in front of violence to protect someone I loved and walked away with a cracked skull. I saw the devil come out of a television while my body was still weak from surgery. I watched my own sight begin to fail. At 33 — the same age Christ carried the cross — I had an encounter with angels that downloaded something into me I can only describe as a knowing. A clarity about what this life is for and what I am supposed to leave in it.
Everything I have just described lives inside my paintings. Not as metaphor. As material. The red is the room going red. The hearts are the organ that stopped. The crowns are for the kings who were told they would never be. The clouds are where I came from and where the love in this work originates.
This is the testimony. Own it. — Cloud Kent
